I am SURE you just finished reading the article I wrote about fleas. We here at Jeffers think it is important that you understand those nasty little monsters and how to deal with them. I know that you were able to find the products specific to you and for your animals’ needs.
Now that the fleas are under control, and your pets can stay INDOORS during the hot summer months, let’s talk about tips for leaving your dog inside alone.
First of all, WE HATE THAT! For some unknown reason, we can’t go everywhere with you, all the time. So, if you insist on spending time without us, here are some important facts. For those dogs who are CRATE TRAINED, please do not leave them locked in their crates for more than 4 hours max! (I love that word…) My Jeffers family has lots of books on hand to help with your training needs. For all the other dogs who are not accustomed to being in a crate, OR you plan on being gone longer than 4 hours, use a gate that your dog can see out of. Make him (or her) a little den area with a comfortable bed or soft place to sleep.
And, YES it is true that we don’t like to “do our business” where we sleep, so please prepare a bathroom area in a far corner. My Jeffers family has lots of housebreaking supplies to make it healthy for everyone.
Lastly, be sure to leave on music, or the TV with calm, soothing sounds. If your dog has separation issues, or severe anxiety, Jeffers has a wonderful product that sprays the natural Pheromones that calms a dog as if he were a pup with his mother. Ok, that’s all for now. Remember, NEVER leave your animal out in the heat without shelter and lots of water. NEVER, EVER leave your dog unattended in a parked car. NO EXCEPTIONS!
